Academy Volleyball Alumni Dinner
The Academy Alumni Dinner is the only fundraiser where a portion of the proceeds go back to the club to help cover special situations. Academy Volleyball has a proud and long-standing history of not turning away players, who have a sincere desire to play volleyball, as a result of financial considerations.
The date for the Alumni has not been set yet, but will take place during the first quarter of 2017 (January, February, or March). More information on the date and location of the dinner will be announced shortly.
In the meantime, there two important activities that need immediate attention:
- Donations/Basket Solicitations
- Advertisement and Sponsorship Solicitations
Every year at the Alumni Dinner, teams donate "gift baskets" for raffle. In the coming days, your team's Fundraising Coordinator will have more information on creating your teams' basket.
In the past, teams have sought donations from local businesses to create their basket. We have found this to be very effective and encourage you to seek donations wherever possible. As a 501 (c)(3) organization, all donations are tax deductible. To help you solicit local businesses, we have developed an introductory letter for you to use.
Advertisement & Sponsorships
One of the best ways you can offset your tuition expenses is through the sale of program advertisements and dinner sponsorships. Once again, your team's Fundraising Coordinator will go over this portion of the sponsorship in more detail with you in the coming days.
In the meantime, the attached letter/order form has been created to help you reach out local businesses (or your employer). The letter details the benefits of the sponsorship and the order form details the advertisement/sponsorship opportunities that are available.
Please note that all program ads are due back to Laurie Darnaby by January 6, 2017.
