IMPORTANT NEWS AND EVENTS FROM ACADEMY VOLLEYBALL

WE GET TO, Remember Coach Dezy

One year ago we lost our friend, coach, mentor, colleague and inspiration. We have spent each day of the last year remembering that We Get To put our best foot forward every day and be grateful for all that we have. Here at Academy, we will always continue to follow in Dezy’s footsteps and live up to the example he set for each and every one of us. For more information about his mission or to support his foundation please visit dezystrong.org.

NEWS & NOTES

  • The Board of Directors is staying up to date on all local, state, region, and national directives and suggestions. We are all eager to get back out on the court for competitions and we will do so where and when it is safe.

  • The next step in this process is Intra-Club scrimmages which will begin taking place as early as next week. These scrimmages will take place during practice time and we are working on the ability to live stream these events so that parents can watch.

  • Please make sure your GEVA Membership (through Sports engine) is current and up to date. If you have any questions on this, please contact your head coach. We will not be able to roster any athletes that do not have a membership.

  • “Stay & Play” Tournaments, such as the Boys Atlantic Northeast Tournament (BANE) and others, require us to book hotels through their housing options in order to meet the criteria to be accepted in to a tournament. There are some exemptions to the some “Stay & Play” rules, depending on the tournament. For boys attending the Boys Atlantic North East tournament (BANE), you can find those exemptions here.
