2019 Academy Volleyball Summer Camps

Welcome to another exciting summer camp season! Academy Volleyball is committed to the development of all of its athletes.  As such, Academy camps focus on tactical as well as technical training and will serve as an excellent opportunity for athletes to get a head start to their upcoming school season.  Academy camps are also a great way for for athletes to improve their fundamentals as well as strengthen their knowledge of game strategy - all without having to leave Long Island.

Please see below for details of all the great summer programs offered by Academy Volleyball.  Please feel free to register for as many camps as you wish. Remember, each camper must submit a Medical Release and an Assumption of Risk form.  You can download the forms by following the links below, saving and filling it out on your computer, then upload them with your online pre-registration (you can also submit a printed copy at the camp itself).  

Academy Special Skills Camp:   MOLLOY COLLEGE (AC_001)

This camp is divided in to three sessions, each focusing on specific fundamentals of volleyball.  Athletes will benefit from mastering the basics of each skill as well as learning more advanced techniques.  You may register for any or all of the sessions.  This camp is for boys and girls age 12-18 in grades 7-12.


DATE:  July 8 - 11, 2019 (Monday - Thursday)

PLACE:  Molloy College, Quealy Gymnasium (Directions)
COST:  $200 per session

SESSION I - Setters, 5:30pm-7pm ($200)
SESSION II - Defense, Passing, & Serving, 7pm-8:30pm ($200)
SESSION III - Attack and Blocking, 8:30pm-10pm ($200)

Academy Skills Camp (AC_002)

The Academy Skills Camp is designed to help develop a well-rounded set of skills for all positions. This camp is for boys and girls age 12-18 in grades 7-12 with a base-level skill set or playing experience in volleyball.

The Academy Grassroots Camp is designed to help develop a well-rounded set of skills for all positions.  This camp is intended for ages 8-12 (grades 3-7) who are beginners with little or no playing experience.

Academy Individual Skills Camp: NESAQUAKE MIDDLE SCHOOL (AC_004)

The Academy Skills Camp is designed to help develop a well-rounded set of skills for all positions. This camp is for girls age 12-18 in grades 6-12 with a base-level skill set or playing experience in volleyball.

PLACE:  Nesaqauake Middle School
COST:   $200

Advanced Skills/Team Camp: MOLLOY COLLEGE (AC_005)

This camp is designed for more advanced players who compete on club teams.  Athletes will receive advanced training and skills development.  This camp is for boys and girls age 12-18 in grades 7-12 with playing experience in volleyball.

Deb DesLauriers - Coach DesLauriers was the Head Coach at Stony Brook University for 13 seasons (2000-2012) and has coached at the NCAA Division I level for 17 seasons.  As a player, DesLauriers was the Big East Rookie of the Year as a Freshman, a four-year All-Big East performer, as well as a three-time All-Big East Tournament team honoree.  She was the only active player to be nominated for the Big East Volleyball Player of the Decade (80s) while in her Junior year.  In 2009, DesLauriers was honored with the induction into the Providence College Hall of Fame for her outstanding player achievements on the volleyball team ('87-'90).  She is the only player in Providence Volleyball history to be awarded with this honor.  

Kevin DesLauriers - Coach DesLauriers is the Head Volleyball Coach at Molloy College and a Director at Academy Volleyball.

Matthew Rivera - Coach Rivera is the Head Boys Volleyball Coach at Sachem North High School and the Boys Director at Academy Volleyball.

Matthew DiStefano - Coach DiStefano is the Assistant Boys Volleyball Coach at Sachem North High School and the Boys Director at Academy Volleyball.

Rick Cole - Coach Cole is the Head Coach of the Boys 18-Red team at Academy Volleyball.

Kellie Block - Ms. Block is the Grassroots Director at Academy Volleyball.

Brooke Cole - Ms. Cole is the Grassroots Director at Academy Volleyball.

Please note that Academy will have water coolers on site and will have beverages available to purchase.  Athletes should come prepared with the following items:

  • T-Shirts

  • Kneepads

  • Gym Sneakers

  • Plenty of Water

  • Lunch

MEDICAL ATTENTION:
Academy will have a trainer on duty to administer aid for minor injuries and ailments.  The attached Assumption of Risk form is required and must be presented on or before the first day of camp.  You can download the form, fill it out, then upload them with your online pre-registration.  Please remember to save your forms in the following format; LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME_Risk_DATE(xx-xx-xx).
