MATT DISTEFANO (DEZY) - DIRECTOR & COACH

Coach DiStefano has over 15 years of Coaching Experience. He served as the Varsity Head Coach at Sachem North from 2004-2006.  In that time his program reached the County Finals and won a Division Championship.  He was selected as the Suffolk County Coach of the Year in 2004.  Coach DiStefano left Sachem to accept the position of Assistant Coach at Division II Dowling College.

MATT RIVERA - Director & Coach

Matt Rivera is the Varsity Head Coach at Sachem North H.S.  In his 10 years as Head Coach the Sachem Program has won 3 Division Titles, a County Championship, a Long Island Championship and the 2014 NYS Championship.  Coach Rivera is a 4 time recipient of the Suffolk County Coach of the Year Award and was named the 2014 Newsday Long Island Coach of the Year. He has coached at the club level for the LI Blaze Volleyball club and LIVBC.

Bill Kropp - Lead Coach

Coach Bill Kropp has 35 years of volleyball coaching experience.  He currently serves as Head Varsity Coach of Sachem East after founding the boys volleyball program at Sachem in 1989.  He has coached 38 Varsity seasons (Boys and Girls) and has accumulated over 575 career wins.  In his many years at Sachem Coach Kropp’s programs have won 25 League Championships  (18 Boys, 7 Girls), 8 Suffolk County Championships (5 Boys, 3 Girls), a Boys Long Island Championship in 2013.

Chris Holden - Lead Coach

Chris Holden is the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Ward Melville High School.  In his first year leading the Patriots volleyball program Coach Holden led his team to the Suffolk County Semi-Finals.  He also coaches the Middle School team at Murphy Junior High School.  He returns to coach at his alma mater after a terrific collegiate career that included playing at East Stroudsburg and SUNY New Paltz.  Prior to returning to his Ward Melville he coached Varsity Volleyball at Shoreham Wading River.  He has also coached travel ball at the 17s level.  Coach Holden is an exciting young coach and has a bright future in front of him.
